Mississippi State women’s basketball coach Aqua Franklin is leaving the Bulldog coaching staff to become associate head coach at Kansas it was announced Wednesday.
Franklin spent the last three seasons with MSU and head coach Vic Schaefer. During her time in Starkville, Franklin helped turned the Bulldogs around and reach the NCAA Tournament this past season.
“Aqua has been with me eight years as a player and coach, and while I hate to see her leave, I’m happy for her. She has the opportunity to take that next step professionally as the associate head coach at Kansas and work with people that she’s very familiar with and I’m very familiar with,” Schaefer said in a school release.
