It was announced Thursday that Mississippi State signee Austin Riley had signed with the Atlanta Braves.
The DeSoto Central third baseman was taken with the 41st overall pick in last week’s MLB Draft. He signed for $1.6 million. The slot value of his pick was $1,506,400.
Riley joins outfielder Greg Pickett as the only two Bulldog signees drafted to sign contracts. Pickett inked a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies last week.
Both Jared Padgett and Delvin Zinn were drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the later rounds, but both decided to come to MSU instead.
Gray Fenter and Elih Marrero are the only two signees who have yet to announce their decisions.
