Mississippi State’s basketball roster suffered another casualty on Tuesday as Oliver Black is the second player to transfer in as many weeks.
Black and Maurice Dunlap both left the team after one season.
Black appeared in 31 games as a true freshman last season for former coach Rick Ray including four starts. The 6-foot-9, 224-pounder from Jackson averaged 1.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15.8 minutes a game. He scored a career-high nine points in a loss to McNeese State on Dec. 30.
Black’s departure leaves senior Johnny Zuppardo and freshmen Aric Holman and Joseph Strugg to fill the power forward position.
