Mississippi State has hired veteran NFL assistant Brian Baker to fill its vacancy along the defensive line.
Baker was most recently with the Washington Redskins as outside linebackers coach in 2014 and brings 19-years of NFL experience to the Bulldogs. Baker spent 15 of those years in the NFL as a defensive line coach with the Chargers, Lions, Vikings, Rams, Panthers and Cowboys.
Baker also spent 11 years coaching at the collegiate level at Maryland, Army and Georgia Tech. He last coached in college at Georgia Tech as linebackers coach from 1987-94 and defensive coordinator in 1995.
