Former Mississippi State golfer Ally McDonald finished 2nd in a Symetra Tour event on Sunday.
While most golf fans, including myself, were watching Dustin Johnson win the US Open on Sunday, a former Mississippi State Bulldog was making noise herself. Ally McDonald finished 2nd in the Four Winds Invitational, an event on the Symetra Tour.
McDonald entered the final round of the tournament at -1, six shots back of the leader, Emily Tubert. But, McDonald rallied to shoot a final round 67, which is -5 on the day, which got her to -6 for the tournament.
With a birdie on the 16th hole, McDonald tied for the lead at -6 with Jackie Stoelting, but Stoelting birdied 17 to take a one shot lead and ultimately win the tournament, shooting a final round -5 67, the same final round score as McDonald.
