Allen flips commitment to ULL

Mississippi State has another scholarship available for 2016 after three-star cornerback Dontrell Allen flipped his pledge to Louisiana-Lafayette, coached by former MSU assistant Mark Hudspeth.

The 6-foot, 181-pounder from Reserve, La., had been committed to the Bulldogs since Jun. 8.

Eligibility issues and injury cut Allen’s senior season short at East St. John. He finished with 39 carries for 404 yards and two touchdowns, 14 catches for 227 yards and a score and one kickoff return for 52 yards.

MSU’s class shrinks to 15 and is ranked 39th nationally.
