As the 2020 season approaches, ushering in a new decade of college football, I found myself thinking about this past decade of college football. Specifically, I found myself thinking about the past decade of Mississippi State decade and how far the program has come in only 10 years.
Before 2010, Mississippi State football had become a doormat of the Southeastern Conference in the early to mid-2000s, and with the exception of 2007, the Bulldogs didn’t record a winning season from 2001-2009. The lackluster play on the field, thanks in part to NCAA sanctions and player discipline, set the program back substantially.
