Mississippi State kicks off the 2018 football season on Saturday against Stephen F. Austin. Today’s player spotlight is Starkville’s own, #5 Gabe Myles.
Myles, a Starkville, Miss. native, played for MSU from 2013-2017. He played his high school ball for the Starkville High Yellow Jackets.
The 6-foot, 185-pound athlete was a versatile three-star prospect and was named the No. 42 best cornerback in the country by 247Sports. He was regarded as the seventh-best player in Mississippi regardless of position and was considered the No. 10 Most Wanted prospect in Mississippi by the Clarion-Ledger.
During his senior season, he led Starkville High to a 12-3 record and the 5A state championship while playing both quarterback and defensive back.
