After a 2016 recruiting cycle that saw Mississippi State struggle in many ways to land top talent, the 2017 cycle treated the Bulldogs much better across the board.
The Bulldogs landed their quarterback and running back of the future in four-star dual-threat quarterback Keytaon Thompson and four-star running back Kylin Hill.
Mississippi State leaned heavily on the Mississippi junior college system to fill needs on defense and along the offensive line. This year, they didn’t let hometown talent leave, as the Bulldogs signed four-star linebacker Willie Gay out of Starkville High.
The Bulldogs signed nine junior college players, seven on defense and two offensive linemen, all of whom should get looks at starting roles this spring.
