In 2015, John Cohen had to play things by ear when it come to 3rd base for the Mississippi State baseball team. He had a few options, but none of them did as well as he would have liked. There were five different players who logged most of the time at the hot corner. It eventually was held down by two players for the most part.
Matt Spruill received the most playing time early on in the season. But Spruill was not much of an upgrade over the soft hitting Matthew Britton from 2014.
Eventually, Cohen made the decision to switch Seth Heck from Shortstop to 3rd Base and put Ryan Gridley at shortstop.
