There are now just 20 days until Mississippi State football kicks off the season against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns at Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Aug. 31. Each day up until kickoff I will be spotlighting a player with the jersey number that corresponds to the amount of days until the first game of the 2019 season.
Today’s player spotlight brings us junior cornerback Taury Dixon. The 5-foot-9, 190-pounder hails from Madison, Mississippi, where he played at Germantown High School. He recorded 127 tackles in 41 career games played, including one sack. He also tallied 12 interceptions and 30 pass break-ups, four forced fumbles and two blocked field goals in his time as a prep cornerback.
