The countdown continues as there are now just 13 days until Mississippi State kicks off the 2019 football season against Louisiana. Today’s spotlighted player is #13 Tyler Williams.
Williams, a native of Oxford, Mississippi, was rated as a three-star defensive back prospect by Rivals, Scout.com and 247Sports. He was rated as the third-best safety prospect in the state of Mississippi by scout.com and the 16th-best player overall in the state according to 247Sports.
Williams prepped at Lafayette High School and played both sides of the ball. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder recorded a team-high 795 receiving yards and nine touchdowns during his senior season as well as 43 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass deflections on the defensive side.
