Matt Zenitz of On3 is reporting that Utah Utes offensive lineman Orlando Umana is set to transfer to Ole Miss.
The former All-Pac 12 interior lineman started 26 games during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Umana only played in one game in 2020 due to an injury, but the now-healed lineman should provide significant depth to new offensive line Jake Thornton’s room.
This addition will seemingly free up Ole Miss to have some flexibility to move returning starter Ben Brown back to guard and let Umana slide in at center in 2021. The transfer portal product played in 40 games as a Ute and was a part of a very successful SP+ rushing offense, finishing top-25 in standard downs and top-35 in line yards per carry.
