Monday was supposed to be selection day for the 2020 NCAA Baseball Tournament, as well as the day after the Southeastern Conference tournament.
Instead, it was another day where scheduled sporting events did not take place, but Ole Miss and Tim Elko did pick up a postseason honor.
Despite a shortened baseball season, the SEC announced its 2020 Community Service Team on Monday, featuring Elko for his efforts in the Oxford and Lafayette County communities.
The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service.
