MOBILE, Ala. – One minor yet interesting storyline for Saturday’s Ole Miss-South Alabama game is that Jaguars defensive coordinator Kane Wommack is an Ole Miss fan of sorts.
That’s because Kane Wommack – who is in his second season at USA – is a former Ole Miss grad assistant and his dad, Dave, is a former Rebels assistant. Dave Wommack retired in November after five seasons as the Rebels’ defensive coordinator. Kane Wommack spent 2012 and ’13 in Oxford as a graduate assistant working for his father.
“Personally, it’ll be a little weird going into Oxford, just coaching there for two years and my dad just finished up five years there,” Wommack said.
