SEC commissioner Greg Sankey is chairman of the NCAA committee on infractions, but he said he has recused himself from the investigation into Ole Miss.
Sankey spoke at Monday’s Associated Press Sports Editors Southeast Region meeting and said, “I’m fully recused from anything involving any member university.”
He also said he previously recused himself in cases involving SEC teams.
“Since I’ve been a member of the committee on infractions, Tennessee has appeared before the committee twice, Florida and Georgia have, there have been some others,” he said. “There’s been summary disposition reports, including someone from Alabama (former defensive line coach Bo Davis).
