Mike Bianco’s club salvaged one in Knoxville over the weekend to avoid a sweep and will take on the Missouri Tigers on Tuesday in an elimination game in Hoover, Ala. And despite that game three victory over the Vols, the Rebels (33-23, 16-14) dropped again in Warren Nolan’s RPI standings, falling to 31st and almost certainly completely out of the hosting race for the NCAA Regional round.
As mentioned above, Ole Miss will take on Missouri Tuesday, a team that defeated the Rebs two-out-of-three earlier this year in the Show Me State. In order for the Rebs to cling to a hopeful two-seed spot in the NCAA Tournament and to quite possibly keep Bianco’s head above water, they desperately need to defeat the Tigers and move on to the double-elimination round against Arkansas.
