One night after the Rebels rode Will Ethridge for seven innings and obliterated Jacksonville State on Friday, Ole Miss did it again on Saturday. This time it was via the true freshman, Doug Nikhazy.
Ole Miss won their 39th game of the year on the shoulders of the Windemere, Fla. native, riding the leftie’s 116 pitches for a spot in the Oxford Regional title game. Nikhazy tossed the pill for eight innings, scattered four hits, one run, and a career-best nine strikeouts, silencing the Clemson bats and putting the Rebels in the driver’s seat in Oxford.
Pacing Ole Miss on offense today were the usual suspects.
