When Ole Miss faces its cross-state rival in the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving night, the Rebels may be without one of their top weapons. Interim head coach Matt Luke said that wide receiver Van Jefferson appears unlikely to play in Thursday’s game against Mississippi State.
Jefferson did not play last week against Texas A&M because of an injury that Luke described as a dislocated elbow. Luke said that Jefferson did not practice Monday, and he didn’t sound optimistic that the sophomore would play this week.
“I don’t want to rule him all the way out, but he’s questionable at best,” Luke said.
