Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL and torn lateral meniscus, the school announced Sunday. He will have surgery later this week.
Kelly, a senior, sustained the injuries in the third quarter of Saturday’s 37-27 win over Georgia Southern and did not return. After the game, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said he was scheduled to have an MRI the following day.
Because the surgery is season-ending, Kelly’s Ole Miss career is over.
Kelly threw for 226 yards and accounted for three touchdowns (one passing, two rushing) in the win before exiting the game against the Eagles.
