HOOVER, Ala. -- No. 2 seed Ole Miss defeated No. 11 seed Texas A&M 2-1 to advance to the SEC championship game for the fifth time and first since 2008.
Both teams were held scoreless through three innings, with some impressive defense on display.
Ole Miss posted a pair of runs in the fourth to get on the board. Nick Fortes came across the plate when Cole Zabowski grounded out. Will Golsan followed with an RBI single to grab a 2-0 advantage.
The Aggies started to build a comeback in the bottom of the eighth.
