Junior college defensive end Jay Johnson committed to Ole Miss on Sunday, according to Rebels247.
Johnson, a class of 2017 prospect, is not ranked. He did not play last season at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi after choosing to sit out but will play this season. He will then enroll at Ole Miss in January as an early enrollee.
Johnson previously was committed to Ole Miss while in high school during the 2015 recruiting cycle but academic issues forced the then-three-star prospect to junior college. Now 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Johnson was listed as a safety and wide receiver when he weighed only 210 pounds.
