Shea Patterson didn’t have much time to work with the Ole Miss offense in 2016, but now his new offensive coordinator said he’s catching on just fine.
Offensive coordinator Phil Longo said this week that the “light’s coming on” for the rising sophomore quarterback.
“He gets more and more excited every day because the light’s coming on and it’s getting brighter and brighter every day,” Longo said. “He’s starting to realize how much, I think, he feels like he can do in the offense.”
Longo, who arrives in Oxford after running the high-powered offense at FCS program Sam Houston State, knew about Patterson’s talents before he joined the program under head coach Hugh Freeze.
