Last season, Scottie Phillips was on pace to run for 1,100 yards, give or take. Then a foot injury against Texas A&M sidelined him. Now, fast forward to 2019 and Phillips is back and ready to prove the haters wrong. The Jones County transfer ran for 928 yards, averaging 6.1 yards per carry and had 12 touchdowns, good for second-most in the SEC.
Can he do it again?
I tend to think so. Rich Rodriguez’s offense favors the running game when it is working and last season, well, it worked. Now that Phillips is back from his injury 100% and ready to take on the Southeastern Conference again, me thinks he is going to thrive and then some.
