Starting Ole Miss cornerback Kendarius Webster suffered what appeared to be a serious injury to his lower leg on the Rebel defense's opening drive of the season. Webster, who had started every game in 2015 and figured to be the top pass defender for the Rebs this season, came down on his ankle wrong while defending a deep play-action pass. He immediately crumpled to ground and was in obvious pain as he was carted into the locker room.
There's been no official word yet on what the injury might be.
Webster added 10 pounds during the offseason and has been pegged by coaches to have a big junior campaign.
