Tulane hopped out to an early 1-0 lead against Ole Miss in Oxford on Friday evening on the strength of a one-run blast to left from the Green Waves’ Matt Rowland. Ole Miss quickly answered in the bottom of the frame with some help from a throwing error by Tulane’s catcher and the Diamond Rebs currently lead, 2-1.
We say “currently” because the game was called and postponed in the fifth inning due to rain in north-central Mississippi, and proceedings will continue on Saturday at noon CT. This then will constitute the season’s first double-header, with Game 2 of the weekend tilt scheduled for 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
