Moody’s going to be out for a while

OXFORD – Stefan Moody is the player Ole Miss basketball can’t afford to lose unless it’s right now, and it is.

The school announced Monday that Moody will be sidelined for 8-12 weeks as he recovers from surgery to repair a stress fracture in his lower left leg.

A rising senior from Kissimmee, Fla., Moody was discovered by Ole Miss medical staff to have a crack in his tibia. Surgery to “repair and reinforce” the fracture was immediate, the school said in a news release.

Moody, a first-team All-SEC selection by both the Associated Press and the coaches last year, is expected to be 100 percent ready for the start of fall camp in mid-October.
