I’m from Mississippi, a state that’s often misjudged, so it’s uplifting to see something positive from a place I call home.
In the Deep South, everyone knows football isn’t just a sport. It’s a passion and a way to bring joy to life. That’s why it’s heartening that all three of Mississippi’s FBS programs are in the postseason — Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl, Mississippi State in the Belk Bowl and Southern Miss in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. This is the first time since 2000 that all three programs are going to a bowl in the same season.
