Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy says today’s season-opening opponent reminds him a lot of last year’s Charleston Southern team.
That’s not a comforting thought since Charleston came in an pinned an overtime loss on the Rebels on opening night.
Ole Miss was able to overcome that early loss and earn an NCAA bid, its second in three years.
Today at 4 the Rebels take on Northwestern State, a team with four starters back that’s picked second in the Southland Conference. More important than that is the fact that the Demons return a couple of guards who combined last year to average 42 points.
