Background
The Rebels defensive rock J.J. Pegues, a native of Oxford, Miss., began his football career at Oxford High School as a tight-end.
In 2019, Pegues and the Chargers won the Mississippi State 6A Championship. Pegues also played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game where he was recognized as a game honoree.
Coming out of high school, Pegues was ranked nationally as a top ten tight-end prospect, and a top six overall recruit in Mississippi. Pegues signed with Auburn University in 2020.

Pegues started his college career at Auburn as a true freshman, finishing the season with seven receptions for 57 yards and 14 total rushing yards.
