Ole Miss fall practice is officially underway, which means the coaches have entered the final stage of finalizing a depth chart for the opener against Texas Tech in Houston. Most of the starting positions have been set, but position battles are still waging at running back, linebacker and defensive end.
For as much turmoil as the Ole Miss program has undergone over the past couple of years, this is still a talented roster, particularly on offense. A seasoned offensive line will protect a quarterback who showed big-time ability last year, and he’ll be throwing to a group of wideouts that Athlon sports ranks as the best in the country.
