There are a lot of Ole Miss signees with a lot of recruiting stars, but the surprise of camp has been a walk-on.
Rebels coach Hugh Freeze had good things to say about true freshman tight end Dawson Knox after Tuesday’s practice.
Tight end is a place where Ole Miss is looking for depth behind Evan Engram. Lamar post-grad transfer Dillon Barrett may help fill that role. Certainly junior Jeremy Liggins will, but Liggins has been held out of recent work with a hamstring issue. He’s expected to be ready for the season opener against Tennessee-Martin.
Knox has caught Freeze’s eye, but it doesn’t sound like he will get on the field this year.
