Freshman pitcher out of action for about six weeks after dorm accident

Speaking to the Tupelo Kiwanis Club today Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco says his baseball team is mostly healthy with the start of regular season practice coming in January.

The exception is freshman right-handed pitcher James McArthur who sustained a fracture in his foot while moving out of a dorm yesterday.

Long and lean at 6-foot-7 and 217 pounds, McArthur had a productive fall and is considered a candidate to pitch on the weekends.

He’s having surgery today, and he’s expected to be out six weeks.
