Last weekend’s Shriners College Classic in Houston was supposed to be the SEC’s shot at redemption after its record field of NCAA Tournament teams wiped out last summer. Instead, it was the Big 12 walking away with bragging rights. Then-No. 4 LSU and No. 20 Texas A&M both went 1-2; No. 17 Ole Miss went 0-3. TCU, meanwhile, ripped through the weekend undefeated to maintain its unanimous No. 1 ranking, while No. 18 Texas Tech and Baylor went 2-1 apiece. The final score: Big 12 7 wins, SEC two.
