Bringing a firearm to a college football game in Mississippi could be deemed legal if certain Mississippi lawmakers have their way. If you think a cowbell could be labeled hazardous in a somewhat hostile situation, hold on to your hat.
Mississippi Representative Andy Gipson introduced House Bill 1083 that passed the MS Legislature, allowing persons that bear an enhanced concealed firearms permit to carry a weapon onto public property, including college campuses and in to college football stadiums on game day.
Why Rep. Gibson felt it necessary for anyone to need and pack heat on a college campus is beyond me, but I’m not the only one that feels the possibility of guns on a Saturday night full of liquor-induced fans, equally full of vitriol and liquid courage, is a bad thing.
