The Ole Miss baseball team started fast and held off its in-state rival for a series-clinching 13-10 win over Mississippi State on Friday at Oxford-University Stadium.
Each team pounded out 15 hits.
The Rebels, who took the opener, 4-3, Thursday night, will go for the sweep Saturday at 4 p.m. The game can be on the SEC Network.
Ole Miss (27-24, 13-13 Southeastern Conference) jumped on Mississippi State starter Preston Brown for six first-inning runs, including a three-run home run from first baseman Sikes Orvis and a solo shot from center fielder J.
