LOS ANGELES—Ole Miss got their Los Angeles regional experience off to a rocky start dropping their opener to Maryland 3-1 Friday at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
With the loss the Rebels move to the loser’s bracket and will try to keep their season alive. The Rebels will play the loser of the UCLA-CSU Bakersfield game in the first elimination game of the regional at 6 p.m. CT Saturday.
Christian Trent was not his best and Maryland jumped on him at the start. The Terps scored two runs in the top of the first inning off of four straight hits (three doubles, single) for the early 2-0 lead.
