Three-star cornerback Jaylin Williams committed to Ole Miss on Friday, the latest addition for the Rebels’ 2018 recruiting class. He made his announcement on Twitter.
Williams (5 feet 11, 170 pounds), from Germantown (Tenn.) High in the Memphis suburbs, also had offers, among others, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Virginia and Indiana.
He becomes the ninth 2018 commitment for Hugh Freeze and the Rebels, and the first one in the secondary. Of the other eight Ole Miss-committed players, five are defensive linemen. All nine pledges are three-star prospects.
Last year, Ole Miss defenders intercepted only eight passes, tied for 93rd in the FBS ranks.
