BOSTON -- A Wild team already down three forwards will now be without key defenseman Marco Scandella, sidelined for at least a week with a lower body injury he suffered Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Scandella was placed on injured reserve, meaning he'll sit out at least seven days and two games.
"He's a huge part of our defensive game," Yeo said. "But (without) his skating ability, his special teams, there's going to be a lot of opportunity there for somebody else to step in and try to take advantage of it."
The biggest benefactors in playing time will be Christian Folin and Nate Prosser, who have rotated in and out of the lineup when all seven defensemen are healthy.
