Wild's Darcy Kuemper will get his turn Friday

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- After the Wild traded for goalie Devan Dubnyk last season, he went on a remarkable run with the team, starting 39 consecutive games, then all 10 postseason contests.

Left in his shadow was Darcy Kuemper, the Wild's young goalie who opened last season as the starter before midseason struggles and injuries led to the trade for Dubnyk.

During Dubnyk's run, he relinquished starting duties for just one night.

That night, April 9 in Nashville, is Kuemper's only start in a NHL game the past nine months.

But now that's about to change as the Wild look to get their backup goalie more involved.
