From a perch at the top of Xcel Energy Center, Wild assistant coach Darryl Sydor sat next to one of the team's top prospects, former Gopher defenseman Mike Reilly, during Thursday's game, a place they were expected to be Saturday night too.
At seat No. 1 and 2 in the press box, Sydor broke down plays to Reilly as they happened and diagramed different aspects of the game, part of the first-hand training the Wild are giving to Reilly during his temporary time in the NHL.
Because of Reilly's struggles in the American Hockey League, the Wild brought him to Minnesota this week to give him personal attention and offer Reilly a glimpse of the NHL game.
