The Minnesota Wild opened training camp Friday without assistant coach Darryl Sydor, who was arrested in August when he was driving with a .30 blood alcohol content with his 12-year-old son in the car.
Sydor posted bail and admitted himself into a treatment center in California.
While Sydor continues treatment and the legal process plays out, the Wild stand behind their assistant coach.
"He's got a process that he has to go through," coach Mike Yeo said. "We don't (know) what the timeline is or how quickly he'll be back. All I can say is that we want to support him and give him every opportunity to get better, and so we're here for him.
