Zach Parise has converted on the second-most shootout goals in NHL history -- 39. That's one less than Chicago captain Jonathan Toews.
And yet, Parise is one of several Wild players excited about the 3-on-3 overtime the league will put into play this season in an effort to cut down on the number of shootouts that settle games following a scoreless OT session.
"I've always been a supporter of anything that's going to end the shootouts, so if we can end some more games before that, that will be good," Parise said of the new overtime format.
