SUNRISE, Fla. -- Thanks to progress made Friday, the Wild are hopeful Saturday brings a welcome finale to their two most important contract negotiations.
As the team heads into Day 2 of the NHL draft Saturday, the biggest priority in front of general manager Chuck Fletcher is completing contracts with No. 1 goalie Devan Dubnyk and No. 1 center Mikael Granlund.
If all goes as he hopes, Fletcher will have a pair of new contracts inked before he leaves South Florida.
"I'm hoping we have both done by tomorrow," Fletcher said Friday night after the first round of the NHL draft.
