Even before Ryan Carter scored a shorthanded goal Saturday night, the first tally from a member of the Wild's fourth line, coach Mike Yeo said he was pleased with improvements he had seen from the unit.
Chris Porter, claimed off waivers the week before the season started, Erik Haula, and Carter make up a fourth line that combined for their first point Saturday in the team's seventh game. And even that came shorthanded when Carter was the lone fourth liner on the ice.
Still, Yeo was pleased with the trio.
"First off, I think Porter's game has been steadily improving," Yeo said.
