Minnesota Wild assistant coach Darryl Sydor pleaded guilty to second-degree driving while impaired Monday stemming from an August arrest.
Sydor, 43, was sentenced to 365 days in jail, 60 of which were executed. The judge's sentence was staggered, per the request of Sydor's attorney, which means Sydor could avoid spending time in jail.
Over the next two months, Sydor is sentenced to spend two weekends at a workhouse. After that, his attorney said, the remaining 45 days of Sydor's sentence will be staggered.
If Sydor can prove in October of 2016, 2017 and 2018, that he has been sober and is recovering, the judge can relieve 15 days of the sentence a year, Sydor's attorney Ryan Pacyga said.
