Mike Yeo's theory is that it takes bigger hockey players longer to get into playing shape during training camp.
That's why the Wild coach said he wasn't worried when Christian Folin struggled during the first few workouts. In the weeks since, Folin has dispatched any concerns, playing well enough to lock up the team's only open roster spot on defense.
Barring injury, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Folin is expected to be in the Wild's opening night roster Thursday after playing in less than half of the team's games last season.
"I think I had a solid camp," Folin said.
