The Minnesota Wild called up rugged forward Kurtis Gabriel, a winger who is expected to make his NHL debut Tuesday when the team plays host to the Winnipeg Jets.
Gabriel earned a callup earlier this season when he was summoned to Winnipeg but sat out that game as a healthy scratch band then went back down to the American Hockey League.
With the Wild's AHL affiliate in Iowa, Gabriel has posted 31 penalty minutes and no points in nine games.
He skated in Monday's practice with the team's fourth line, alongside Chris Porter and Ryan Carter.
