The Minnesota Wild has agreed to terms with forward Michael Keranen (pronounced Kear-uh-nin) on a two-way contract for the 2015-16 season.
Keranen, 25 (1/4/90), tallied 37 points (10-27=37) in 70 games during his first season of hockey in North America with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2014-15. He led Iowa in assists, ranked T-2nd in scoring and was third in shots (147). The 6-foot-1, 176-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, recorded 52 points (17-35=52), 47 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-12 rating in 52 games for Ilves Tampere in Finland’s Elite League in 2013-14.
