Mankato claims third place in the North Star cup with a 3-2 win over Minnesota.
The top line for the Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks took care of business marching to a 3-2 win over the University of Minnesota to claim third place in North Star Cup. Despite a quiet first period by the Mavericks, they turned out to be the better team over the last forty minutes. Teddy Blueger scored two goals (including the game winner) and registered an assist in the win for Mankato. Blueger and his linemates of Dylan Margonari and Zeb Knutson were the difference makers harassing the Gophers all game long, throwing on a barrage of shots toward the net.
